Poem 32 – In a couple of hours

In a couple of hours

They’re sleeping in the back
I steer them home
As the soothing music plays
I would drift away too if I had the chance…

But I look around
And watch the scenery around me
Vast. Stunning.
A witness of beauty.

Sometimes the ones that can see
Are the ones that are blind?
Oh how beautiful this land of my birth is
And in a couple of hours, the scenery changes a few times…

The majesty of the mountains
The song of the sunset
The openness of the ocean
The whisper of the wind

We can sit for two hours and watch a film of the world’s wonders
Or we can drive across this country of South Africa
And watch many scenes flash by.
The scatterlings of Africa.
