Poem 27 – Speed Bumps

Speed bumps
3 April 2014

Stretched out before me
About eighteen of you.
Lying there slowing us down
Getting under our skin

But this week, this time
I won’t let you get to me
I will wind down my windows
I will let the music play from my stereo

Mingle with the air rushing by
Calming this busy mind and soul of mine
Again, this street will belong to us
I gear down, to second
