Poem 12 – Morning Coffee

Morning Coffee
20 March 2014

I smell the aroma creeping over the edge
I see her smile as she delivers my first cup for the day
She and I exchange pleasantries
Sometimes even high five’s.

I smile at her service.
Her kind nature.
And as I sip from this cup
I ponder the day’s activities

This day is packed with potential.
Things to plan.
Stories to know and create.
To help at least one other…

In this big system of life
That often swallows us
I sit at the entrance of the abyss
And sip away…
