“Humans of New York” inspired me…

Lately I discovered Humans of New York

What a brilliant concept!  You can read more about it HERE

Simply, this guy, Brandon (yes, I will call him by first name – because it seems fitting to this post anyway).  He takes pictures of ordinary inhabitants of New York City.  He captures the people doing everyday ordinary things.  He has collected quotes and short stories from them too and in turn has made a collaboration of it all.\

I love it.  Reminds me of a fellow blogger/photographer.  Her blog site Amberafrica captures people and things in a very ordinary light too.

There is something so appealing about these concepts.  Appreciating life in the smallest and most usual daily happenings.

Since discovery HONY… I have looked at life and things quite differently:

1)The guy sitting on bricks at the traffic lights waiting for work
2)The couple doing shopping together
3)The person drawing money at the ATM
4)The workers lying on the road side having a nap
5)The lady collecting money at the tollgates.

So from the large city of New York in the USA to the small town of Carolina in Mpumalanga in South Africa…There are ordinary people.

We are ordinary people.

Doing ordinary things.

Enjoy it!

What “ordinary things” in and around your life can you start to see with wonder again?

I am an aspiring and up and coming writer. Dubbed the wondering wanderer. Do come check out my stories.
