(CHP 8 & 9) – Day 8 – Those days, they laid milk bottles at our doors / Day 9 – When she dances, the world seems to stand still.

Day 8 – Those days, they laid milk bottles at our doors:

Sara stood on a chair and stretched on her tip toes to put the star on their tree, Chris smirked and said:

“Our mighty God, puts all the stars in the sky and names each one, without any hassle.”
She giggled and jumped off the chair chasing her boyfriend, “Next time get us a smaller tree, babes!”

They embraced for a moment. Then they reached for their glasses and chinged.

“Here’s to the Saviour of the world. And here’s to us.”

She smiled and snuggled in under his arm. “I love you.”

He led her outside. It was a crisp Christmas Eve to their patio. The stars were out in full splendor.

Just then they prayed together. They prayed about God’s presence in the world. They prayed with gratitude for the life, family and friends, and work opportunities that they have.

They prayed against destructive religious practices. They prayed against people’s hostility towards God.
They prayed for the brokenness in the world. They prayed for the work of the Saviour to grow constantly.

They prayed that Love would win.
They prayed that the meaning of Christmas will ring out loud from behind the wrappings and roasts and tinsel.

The 12 Days of Christmas

Day 9 – When she dances, the world seems to stand still.

He was looking with intensity out over their yard to the end of the road. The gloomy skies hung low over the land. They reflected his mood. She had been gone for two days. She hadn’t even left a note. Was she hurt? What had happened? The authorities didn’t try too hard. A day of searching and they gave up.

As he sat on his porch the sorrow covered him and he began to drift to sleep.

He awoke to her sweet taste on his lips.

“Where have you been?” he inquired with sadness in his voice?

Beth kissed him again. “I’m sorry my love.” “The real issue or should I refer it to good news is that God is coming.”

He looked at Beth bewildered. “Are you okay?”

She went on to explain her dream and the peace she had. The news that had been shared with her. A Saviour was coming. He would change the face of the world. We ALL would have access to God. We’d all have a purpose. Life would have meaning.

Her face glowed as she shared the beautiful news.
