A long walk to… what?

Just got back from watching the movie. Here are three responses. You gotta love the diversity.

1) Me – I was moved by the film. How can one be imprisoned for 27 years and come out with a big heart of forgiveness. There were at least three moments in the film when I had tears well up. We have come a far way in this country. And I admit I am ignorant to a lot of the apartheid life… But I remain thankful that we now have a democracy…

I then walk into a bookstore:

2) An middle aged man – I overheard him talking about the movie. I commented that I too had just watched it. He asked what I thought. And then he said “But you’re too young, boy, to have been a soldier.” Huh?

3) The young chap behind the counter – “Nelson, was quite the ladies man.” Haha! Is that all he got from the film?

Wow, 3 different generations and their different responses…
