These cancerous things we do

Had this thought this morning

Sometimes we do “cancerous” things.

We feel like the things we have done are not curable.

We think on behalf of God: “If I were you God, I would not forgive me.”

We are very harsh on ourselves…

Yes, there is a scripture that tells us that we should not “grieve the Spirit” and

Yes I know I don’t want to do that…  (Romans 5: 20) However where sin increased grace increased all the more…

So when we have fallen, we need to know:

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103: 12)

God forgives!

He is about reconciliation.

And there are cures in God.

So these cancerous things we have done… Can they be cured?

Of course!!!  People brought their sick to Him, Jesus healed.

There is healing in Him.

– King David (man known as one after God’s own heart), battled with lust, had an affair and murdered someone.

– Peter, denied Jesus (God in the flesh) three times.

– Abraham slept with his servant.

We may be our own harsh critics and so unforgiving of ourselves.  Can we be forgiven?

I am reminded of when Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

This is good news indeed.
